Daniel Showalter
If you're interested in the Civil War in the Far West, you may want to check out this website following the progress of a biography of Daniel Showalter, a California politician and secessionist who escaped east across the desert southwest to join the 4th Texas Cavalry (Arizona Brigade) and serve as its lieutenant-colonel. The book is essentially complete and co-authors Bob Arconti and Gene Armistead are currently trying to nail down a publisher.
